Who We Are

The HURT (Human Rights) Foundation is an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental organization, registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950, mandated to ensure the practical realization of human rights across the country and world.r.

The Foundation believes that by sensitizing people to the issue of human rights violation we can proactively use that sensitivity as a tool for social change. It can also be used to encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage in a dialogue not only in the social and political spheres but also in their individual lives.

What We Do

— Industrial Training Institute

Hurt Foundation has been supporting Children Aid Society in running its Industrial Training Institute (ITI) since 2016 at Mankhurd, Mumbai. It was shut for 5 years prior to this collaboration. Stockholding Corporation of India Limited has been supporting this endeavour from 2016 under their CSR.

— Human Rights Course

Human Rights course is a unique programme that exposes post-graduate participants to the various aspects of human rights including current trends, debates and changing paradigms. It is organised in collaboration with Government Law College, Mumbai. The course is operational since 2002.

— Medical Camps

These camps are regularly organised for the underprivileged who cannot afford the expenses of medical procedures and treatment. Along with routine check-ups, special camps are also organised according to the need of the communities.

- Human Rights Training

Hurt Foundation provides trainings and workshops around human rights. These workshops are highly effective for development sector professionals, students and corporates who feel for the issue of human rights.

- Child Protection and Welfare

Issues concerning child rights and juvenile justice are central to Hurt Foundation. Awareness generation campaign through exposure visits, webinars, talks and discussions are regularly conducted.

— Networking with stakeholders

Hurt Foundation is active in networking with stakeholders working on the issue of human rights. This process helps in being well versed with updates about human rights through sharing and deliberation.
